Evgeniy Burak’s One Man Show and ‘Retracing Russia’ screening in Geneva
In parallel with the screening of the documentary “Retracing Russia” describing the life of the photographer Evgeniy Burak, Grutli House of the Arts will host an exhibition of his photographs.
While working as a photographer at one of the biggest newspapers of Smolenks “Working Path” in his youth, Eugene Burak took a vast number of photos for the newspaper and for his own use. Like Heaven in the Heart: The Making Of
“Like Heaven In The Heart” released in Russian theaters on April 5, 2012.
Panicfilm is delighted to announce the release of “Like Heaven In The Heart”, a film chronicling the work of the Russian rock band DDT and its lead man Yuri Shevchuk. The film was directed by Victoria Kaskova and produced by Yuri Burak. Total running time: 86 min.
“Like Heaven In The Heart” is a unique film. It is an up-close look at DDT’s latest album and concert “Otherwise”, which premiered at the Olimpiysky Stadium in Moscow on November 9, 2011. The film includes exclusive backstage and live concert footage from that show, which was followed by a triumphal concert tour in Russia, the CIS and Europe.
Thanks to this film, audiences throughout Russia – especially those in cities not included in the tour – can experience DDT’s live music and learn more about the philosophy of Russia’s best-known musician, Shevchuk, at their local cinemas.
“Like Heaven In The Heart” is the first Russian concert-film produced for cinematic release on the big screen. Audio engineers faithfully recreated everything, including the roar of the crowd, just as it was at the Olimpiysky Stadium so that listeners can experience DDT’s music just as if they were attending a live show.
The film captures all of the exceptional production values of Otherwise, which proved to be a masterpiece both musically and visually. It includes cutting-edge, artfully produced videos that, during live performances, were projected onto a huge screen behind the band.
Last but not least: the audio mixing was done at London’s Metropolis Studio, whose clients include The Rolling Stones, Muse, Oasis, The Who, ZZ Top, Blur, Bjork, Iron Maiden, Mika, Simply Read, and others.
